Endeavour was started in 1951 by a group of mothers meeting on a Coorparoo verandah - so Queensland don’t you think?



 
The foundation makes a $300m contribution to the economy each year.
It is currently being restructured with a National Council and Area Committees.

In 1968, the 25 Endeavour Schools became Special Schools.
It is the largest organization of its kind.


 
State/National Government funding is a headache, but the NCIS will help.

 
Tony fielded questions -
Stuart asked what NDIS would do?
A = 400,000people eligible to some degree will be personally funded and able to purchase services, so will be a cultural change.
Ron asked who controls interests for the intellectually disadvantaged?
Ultimately it looks like the Public Trustee.
