The 2016 Joint Meeting of the Rotary Clubs of the Sunshine Coast is confirmed for Wednesday 11 May

Rotary and University of the Sunshine Coast Community Fund (RUSCCF)
To advance tertiary education opportunities through a partnership between the combined Rotary Clubs of the Sunshine Coast & the University of the Sunshine Coast

Dear Club President,

As advised late last year, the 2016 Joint Meeting of the Rotary Clubs of the Sunshine Coast is confirmed for Wednesday 11 May at the Innovation Centre, University of the Sunshine Coast.

Your guest speaker is Dr Greg Nash.  Greg received a RUSCCF Scholarship in 2006 and is the first recipient to return as a guest speaker.  He holds an honours degree and a doctorate from USC, and is now a Senior Lecturer in Communication and a Course Coordinator in USC's School of Communication and Creative Industries.  Greg is also a writer and an entertaining public speaker, and is a White Ribbon Ambassador.  Quite a change for a man who started his working life as a fully qualified baker.

Greg's topic is: "A Baker by Degrees - How Rotary Transformed My Life".  If you had any doubts about your Rotary scholarships changing lives for the better then come along to this year's Joint Meeting.

You will also hear about USC's continuing progress and its benefits to the Sunshine Coast.  Most importantly, you will hear from the three 2016 RUSCCF Scholarship recipients and will have an opportunity to meet with them.  And the meeting is a unique annual opportunity for you to meet with other Sunshine Coast Rotarians as well as with senior USC staff.

The bar will open at 6pm, a light dinner is served from 6.15pm, and the meeting starts at 7.30pm with a 9pm (approx) close.  The cost remains at just $25pp including dinner.  Car parking will be free.  Rotarians, partners and friends are all welcome.

Details will follow shortly.  Meanwhile, if you have not done so already, I ask that you consider moving your club's weekly meeting to Wednesday 11 May.  (There is no clash with State of Origin #1, which is on Wednesday 1 June!)
